What will be done Clamshell bucket trucks will be used to remove sediment and debris that has built up in the catch basins. Basins with an obstructed outlet pipe or strong odor will be scheduled for follow-up flushing and rodding to clear any stoppage in the outlet pipe. In addition, repairs to masonry, brickwork and castings will be completed under the Commission’s annual catch basin preventative maintenance program. Project Area The Commission cleans catch basins throughout the city, scheduling the work based upon sediment accumulation rates, identified areas prone to flooding and customer complaints. Wherever practical, catch basin cleaning is scheduled to coincide with posted parking restrictions for street cleaning. Temporary parking restrictions may be posted whenever street parking conditions obstruct access to a catch basin and generally will affect one car length on each side of the basin.
