Project Purpose

The Boston Water and Sewer Commission’s (BWSC) Albany Street Drainage Improvements Project involves sewerage and drainage improvements that include installation of new storm drains and replacement and lining of existing sewers. The purpose of this project is to place street drains around the Crosstown development site that carry storm drainage separated out of the existing combined sewers.

Community Relations

BWSC is committed to a proactive community relations program. The program is designed to keep residents, businesses and elected officials informed about the project by holding public meetings, listing details of the project on BWSC’s website, and meeting with community groups and elected officials, as requested. In addition, notices have been delivered announcing the work to be performed on the streets. Please contact Mary McCarthy at the number listed below if you are located within the project area described below and have not received the notices. Any other questions may be directed to Tom Bagley, Deputy Director of Communications, at 617-989-7000.

Project Coordination and Construction Activity

BWSC is committed to working closely with the Mayor’s Office, Boston Transportation Department, the Boston Medical Center, Orchard Gardens School, and the Crosstown Center.
