Hydrant meter permits are available when a water service to a home or business is unavailable. A deposit of $750.00 will allow for use of the hydrant for a period of 90 days. The usage will be metered for water only and a $50.00 fee for use of the hydrant meter will be charged. The meter must be returned to BWSC at the end of the 90-day period for reading and billing purposes. If the customer requires extended use of the hydrant meter, a new permit can be issued for an additional 90 days with another deposit of $750.00.  To obtain a Hydrant Meter Permit, or for more information, please contact BWSC’s Engineering Customer Service Department at (617) 989-7138.
