| Catch Basin Cleaning |
Preventive maintenance is as important as general maintenance. Boston Water and Sewer Commission (BWSC) has an active and ongoing system that monitors the health and function of its systems. This section highlights two major preventive maintenance programs.
Water main flushing is performed during warm months of the year and improves the drinking water quality throughout Boston. This section also has the current water main flushing schedule.
Catch basin cleaning is conducted throughout the year. BWSC crews remove sediment and debris that has build up in the catch basin. If you think a catch basin on your street needs to be cleaned, call Community Services Department at 617-989-7000.
