Boston’s water quality sampling taken of 33 homes with lead service lines during the fall of 2025 sampling found elevated levels of lead in drinking water in 4 homes. As a reminder, all of Boston’s water mains are lead free. However, some older homes in Boston may have a lead water service line. BWSC has produced a new PSA on Lead you can find in the notice.
BWSC is having construction work performed on our 980 Harrison Ave. headquarters roof, rooftop HVAC system, and solar panel array. While this is a significant project, the public should be aware that office hours will remain the same and there will be no interruption of customer service in the field, in person at Harrison Avenue, by phone or through the web based customer portal.
The various projects will be completed fully by the end of 2026. For those interested in charting work progress, a project summary, updated as of November 26, 2025, follows. Please note this CRITICAL attachment includes information regarding access to BWSC Headquarters at the end of February for work being performed along Harrison Avenue.
