Starting in 2022, BWSC launched its initiative for phased approach to purchasing additional vehicles and upgrading the facilities that will support a Zero-Emissions Fleet. In summer of 2023, BWSC took delivery of its first ZEVs. These first 21 all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E AWD SUVs will replace gasoline Ford Escape AWD SUVs. Later in 2023, BWSC will receive 16 all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning pickup trucks that will replace gasoline pickup trucks.

The use of these electric vehicles will avoid the consumption of tens of thousands of gallons of gasoline, and significantly reduce BWSC’s carbon footprint* from fleet operations.

BWSC will continue to electrify its light duty fleet as older gasoline vehicles are scheduled to retire, and assess other opportunities to replace or convert medium-duty and heavy-duty vehicles with technologies that will reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
