We recently tested a number of homes in our community for lead and copper in drinking water. More than ten percent of the homes we tested were above the federal action level for lead in drinking water. Boston’s water quality sampling taken of 33 homes during the fall of 2023 found elevated levels of lead in drinking water in 6 homes. As a reminder, all of Boston’s water mains are lead free.
