The New York Times recently released an article about the amount of water main breaks within 100 mile ratios.  New York is ranked second among major cities with 6.6 water main breaks for every 100 miles of mains last year. The article further mentions Boston had an average of 4.1 water main breaks for every 100 miles from last year. Great article and worth a read!
